ACET
Overview
The ACET (The Ajeenkya DY Patil University Common Entrance Test) is an entrance exam conducted by Ajeenkya DY Patil University (ADYPU), Pune, for admission to various undergraduate programs offered by the university. Established with a vision to create future-ready leaders and professionals, ADYPU focuses on providing world-class education across a range of disciplines with a strong emphasis on creativity, critical thinking, and experiential learning.
Exam Details
The CLAT is a 2 hour paper-pen test with 120 multiple choice questions with 1/4 negative marking. The test is conducted in various cities across India on the first Sunday of December.
Exam Pattern/Paper Format
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a paper-pen-based entrance examination for aspiring law students in India. It assesses candidates across five key sections: English (20%), General Knowledge and Current Affairs (25%), Legal Aptitude (25%), Logical Reasoning (20%), and Mathematics (10%). The English section tests language proficiency, while General Knowledge and Current Affairs focus on recent national and international events. Legal Aptitude evaluates a candidate’s understanding of law and reasoning, whereas Logical Reasoning measures critical thinking abilities. Finally, the Mathematics section emphasizes basic numerical skills, ensuring well-rounded preparation for legal studies.
Process Information
The application form is released in August. Students need to complete the application process by mid-October. The test is conducted in December. The admission process is carried out in multiple rounds from end of December through May-June.

Test Syllabus
Quantitative Aptitude
Questions will be asked to test the understanding and application of various concepts up to class 10 Mathematics.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Data Interpretation – Questions will be asked to test the ability to interpret from the given dataset.
Logical Reasoning – Questions will be asked to test the reasoning ability.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
Verbal Ability – Questions will be asked to test the basic understanding of English language.
Reading Comprehension – Questions will be asked to test the ability to comprehend, interpret and infer from the given passage.
