FAQ

A general aptitude test is one which tests students in general areas of Verbal Ability (English), Numerical Ability (Mathematics), Reasoning (Logic and Verbal Reasoning) and/or General Awareness (General Knowledge and Current Affairs).

Most entrance exams in India (except technical ones like JEE, NEET, CPT, Design Entrance Exams) are of General Aptitude. Courses such as Law, Business Management (BBA, BMS, iMBA), Mass Communication, Economics, Hotel Management, Liberal Studies etc. have General Aptitude Test as a major part of the selection process. Even the third paper of CUET is a General Aptitude Test.

Law entrance exams like CLAT, AILET, SLAT, Management entrance exams like IPMAT (Indore, Rohtak), JIPMAT, NPAT, SET General, Hotel Management entrance exams like NCHM JEE, Liberal Studies entrance exams like FEAT, PDEU ET are some of the General Aptitude Tests.

As General Aptitude tests are designed for all students, no specific stream would give you any advantage over the others.

Some colleges may require you to have maths as a subject for eligibility. However, in most cases, it is not compulsory. The level of maths in General Aptitude tests is what all students would learn in std. 8, 9 and 10.
